About the Role
Haynes Brothers Lumber is a third-generation, family-owned building materials company serving Middle Tennessee. We're looking for an experienced Mill Shop Operator to join our custom moulding operation as a second operator. You'll work side by side with our lead operator, bringing your existing woodworking and millwork skills while learning our shop's specific workflows and equipment — including our Weinig moulder.
We invest in our people: the right candidate will be sent to Weinig's factory training and certification program in Mooresville, NC.
If you have a strong background in custom millwork or cabinetry, take pride in craftsmanship, and want a stable long-term role with a company that's been around for generations — we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
• Work alongside our lead operator in the daily production of custom wood moulding profiles
• Set up and operate woodworking equipment including the Weinig moulder, saws, planers, routers, and sanders
• Measure, cut, and shape wood materials to precise specifications
• Read and follow work orders, shop drawings, and blueprints
• Inspect finished products for quality and consistency
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and equipment
• Prepare and package custom orders for delivery
• Complete Weinig factory training and apply that knowledge on the job
What We're Looking For
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in custom millwork, cabinetry, finish carpentry, or wood manufacturing
• Comfortable operating woodworking machinery — moulders, table saws, planers, routers, sanders
• Ability to read shop drawings, work orders, and blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and a genuine pride in quality finished work
• Ability to take direction and work collaboratively in a small shop environment
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and stand for extended periods
• Safety-minded with knowledge of proper PPE and machine safety practices
• Weinig moulder experience is a plus — factory training provided
What We Offer
• $18.00 – $24.00 per hour based on experience
• Paid Weinig factory training and certification
• Health benefits and paid time off
• Stable, family-owned company with deep roots in Middle Tennessee
• A role where your craftsmanship and work ethic are valued
Schedule
