Vice President of Client Delivery

Position Overview Genova is hiring a growth-oriented Vice President, Client Delivery to lead our engineering delivery organization and guide client product roadmaps. Working on-site alongside our executive leadership team at our Cedar Rapids, IA headquarters, you will serve as the primary operational leader responsible for client retention, account expansion, delivery team excellence, and overall portfolio profitability. In this role, you will partner closely with the Director of Engineering to ensure high-quality software delivery while actively working with client executives to translate their business vision into actionable, multi-year product and technical roadmaps. Key Responsibilities 1. Account Leadership & Client Strategy • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the executive point of contact for key accounts, fostering trust-based partnerships with client leadership and key decision-makers. • Strategic Product Roadmapping: Collaborate directly with client executives to map out 2-month, 2-quarter, and 2-year technical and product strategies, aligning delivery capabilities to long-term client goals. • Account Expansion: Proactively identify new SOWs and project opportunities within existing accounts to drive organic revenue growth. 2. People Leadership & Operational Governance • Direct Team Management: Directly supervise, mentor, and coach Engineering Managers and Project Managers, establishing clear accountability, career growth paths, and performance standards. • Resource Allocation & Utilization: Oversee team staffing models, billable utilization targets, and resource forecasting to maintain balanced, productive delivery teams. • Delivery Governance: Champion operational discipline, clear milestone execution, and rigorous documentation across all active engineering engagements. 3. Portfolio Financial Performance (P&L) • Profitability & Margin Health: Own the financial performance of assigned client accounts, closely tracking project budgets, gross margins, and burn rates. • Scope & Contract Control: Partner with delivery managers to govern project scopes, manage change orders (SOW amendments), and eliminate unbilled scope creep. Qualifications • Experience: 12+ years of professional experience in technology consulting, product management, or software agency/services operations. • People Management: 8+ years of direct people-management experience supervising Project Managers or Engineering Managers. • Client & Commercial Growth: Proven track record of account expansion, relationship management, and driving organic growth within B2B/commercial portfolios. • Financial Acumen: Hands-on experience with P&L oversight, gross margin management, and billable utilization metrics. • Roadmapping & Scoping: Demonstrated ability to translate complex client business objectives into multi-quarter product roadmaps and actionable project scopes. • Communication: Exceptional executive presence with superior written and verbal communication skills.
