As a PRN Hemodialysis RN, you'll provide specialized renal replacement therapies for patients with complex medical needs while practicing with a high level of independence and clinical judgment. This role is ideal for nurses with strong hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis experience who are confident managing treatments in a variety of inpatient settings. You'll travel throughout the hospital to care for patients requiring dialysis support overnight, utilizing critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and advanced clinical expertise to deliver exceptional care. Why Join Our Hemodialysis Team? • Practice within a highly specialized dialysis team caring for complex acute-care patients • Utilize your expertise in both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis therapies • Enjoy the flexibility of a PRN schedule while maintaining a meaningful clinical impact • Work independently while collaborating with highly skilled interdisciplinary teams • Learn from experienced preceptors and tenured nursing leadership committed to your success • Join a positive, supportive team culture built on collaboration, respect, and clinical excellence • Care for patients across multiple inpatient units, expanding your experience and skill set Schedule: PRN (As Needed), Night Shift Department: Hemodialysis Location: Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center What You'll Do • Provide safe, high‑quality hemodialysis treatments in the dialysis unit and at the bedside, including care for critically ill patients requiring 1:1 support • Perform cycler and CAPD therapies while applying strong critical‑thinking skills and timely clinical interventions • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient‑centered care and effective communication across units • Maintain strict adherence to infection prevention and control practices in all dialysis environments, including ICU, PCU, ED, and Neuroscience areas • Adapt to fluctuating patient volumes and locations, demonstrating flexibility, sound judgment, and consistent communication to support unit needs What We're Looking For • Education: • High School Diploma or GED, required. • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, required. • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.• If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course, preferred. • Experience: • One year of RN Experience, required. • One year relevant experience, preferred. • Licensure/Certification: • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. • ACLS and CHN Certifications are appreciated.
