• Role: Sitdown Forklift Operator (Chemical/Industrial Warehousing)
• Location: Pasadena, TX
• Shift: Day Shift (Monday – Friday, typical hours 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM; occasional overtime)
• Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
As a Sitdown Forklift Operator in this specific industrial landscape, you will navigate a fast-paced cross-dock and transloading environment:
• Chemical & Freight Handling: Safely operate a sitdown forklift to move, stack, and stage pallets of industrial products, general merchandise, and non-hazardous chemical liquid/dry drums.
• Cross-Docking & Transloading: Load and unload inbound and outbound freight efficiently from container drayage, LTL, and flatbed trailers.
• Advanced Inventory Tracking: Use advanced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanners to track product movements, verify labeling, and ensure perfect inventory alignment.
• Containment & Facility Safety: Adhere strictly to full-containment protocols within the facility, ensuring all storage rules, aisle clearances, and fire suppression access areas are clear.
• Equipment Care: Conduct meticulous daily pre-operation inspections on the forklift, paying close attention to hydraulic systems, tires, and load capacities.
• Repackaging Support: Occasionally assist with value-added services such as pallet wrapping, industrial re-work, and heavy labeling/drum handling.
What We Are Looking For
• Industry Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of proven experience operating a sitdown forklift, specifically within a logistics hub, chemical warehouse, or industrial distribution environment.
• Certification: Valid, OSHA-compliant forklift certification is required.
• Regulatory Competency: Strong awareness of safety standards necessary for working around high-volume transport operations and industrial/chemical goods.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, sit for extended periods while operating equipment, and work comfortably in a non-climate-controlled Texas industrial warehouse.
• Detail-Oriented: Exceptional ability to read complex shipping labels, manifest sheets, and digital WMS logs without errors.
