PT Morning Stocker

About Us: The Concord Market on Campus at MIT is seeking an Early-Morning Stocker! This position is ideal for someone who is organized and works well independently. This position is responsible for receiving, organizing, and stocking merchandise while keeping shelves, displays, and back-stock areas clean and orderly. The ideal candidate is dependable, efficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently during early-morning hours. As an Early-Morning Stocker you will: • Stock grocery, refrigerated, frozen, and other merchandise in the appropriate locations. • Rotate products using proper first-in, first-out procedures and check expiration dates. • Ensure shelves are organized, clean, properly faced, and ready for customers. • Verify that products have the correct shelf tags and pricing. • Break down deliveries and move merchandise from receiving and storage areas to the sales floor. • Organize back-stock areas and maintain accurate product placement. • Identify damaged, expired, or incorrectly priced merchandise and report concerns to management. • Break down cardboard and dispose of packaging materials properly. • Maintain a clean and safe working environment. • Assist with other stocking, cleaning, and store-opening tasks as assigned. Qualifications • Must be available to work from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM at a minimum on scheduled days. • Reliable attendance and punctuality are required. • Ability to work independently and complete tasks efficiently. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Previous grocery, retail, warehouse, or stocking experience is preferred but not required. • Must be able to follow instructions and work cooperatively with store management and team members. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: • Must be able to lift 50 pounds. • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours. • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling. • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. • Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit. • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment. • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. • Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters and other machinery.
