As a Prototype Assembler II, you will play a crucial role in the assembly and rework of electronic and mechanical components essential for engineering development and prototype evaluation.
At our San Diego headquarters, you'll work alongside experienced Engineers and senior Prototype Assemblers to build and modify prototypes while adhering to high-quality workmanship standards. You will support a variety of engineering projects in a dynamic environment, where adaptability is key.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assemble and rework electronic and mechanical components including printed circuit boards (PCBs), cable harnesses, and evaluation kits.
• Perform both SMT and through-hole soldering, ensuring quality and precision.
• Follow detailed assembly drawings, BOMs, schematics, and work instructions.
• Inspect your work for quality and conduct routine rework as needed.
• Communicate effectively about build issues and collaborate with Engineers for troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate build records and documentation.
• Uphold cleanliness and ESD standards in the assembly environment.
• Assist in prototype development builds and adaptations.
• Keep work areas organized and comply with safety protocols.
• Stay agile and flexible to meet shifting project priorities.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of two years in electronic assembly or related technical training.
• Expertise in SMT and through-hole soldering techniques.
• Proficient with soldering tools, microscopes, and electronic assembly equipment.
• Ability to read and follow complex assembly instructions and specifications.
• Experience with high-density soldering components.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks while upholding quality standards.
• Familiarity with handling chemicals related to electronic assembly.
• Knowledge of ESD handling and cleanliness requirements.
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED required.

This position operates in a professional office and laboratory setting where you will regularly use standard office and laboratory equipment.
Physical Demands:
The role involves various physical activities including standing, walking, and operating hand tools with a focus on close and color vision. Lifting may be required occasionally up to 20 pounds.
