Work schedule will be 7on / 7off on the Day Shift, Monday-Sunday, 7am-5pm.
Summary:
Responsible for planning and management of all functions relating to obtaining pharmaceuticals and supplies necessary for the operation of the Pharmacy and associated departments of the hospital.

• Valid Alabama Pharmacy Technician License
• Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate
Credentials with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
• Certified Pharmacy Technician NHA or Certified Pharmacy Technician PTCB
• Certified Pharmacy Technician
Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
• High School Diploma Graduate or Equivalent
Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
Nonessential:
• 2 Years job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Pharmacy
The Pharmacy Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide excellent pharmaceutical care to Children’s of Alabama Patients. Services include, compounding of sterile and non-sterile medication, pharmacokinetics, medication order verification, OR preference bags, hazardous medication dispensing and compounding, clinical pharmacy services, unit-dosing of medication, automatic dispensing machines (Pyxis), investigational study pharmacy, medication delivery and more. The pharmacy operates out of a central pharmacy located in the Benjamin Russell building. Decentralized services are provided by clinical pharmacists on the units and several pharmacy satellites (main campus OR, Children’s South, hematology/oncology clinic, Investigational Pharmacy). The pharmacy utilizes Epic, Epic Willow Inventory, bar code scanning, vertical carousels, and kit management software.
