Key Responsibilities Customer Engagement: Greet and assist customers throughout the store, answering questions about products and recommending grocery specials to meet their needs. Product Quality & Freshness: Regularly monitor sell-by dates and product quality to ensure only the freshest items are available for our customers. Merchandising & Inventory: Efficiently label, stock, and inventory department merchandise. Report any shipping or ordering discrepancies to the Department Manager. Food Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all food safety regulations, including monitoring cooler temperatures and maintaining accurate logs. Safety & Maintenance: Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment in need of repair; strictly follow all safety programs to protect associates and shoppers. Loss Prevention: Report safety risks, theft, fraud, or other illegal activities to store management immediately to maintain a secure environment. Teamwork: Foster an atmosphere of trust and respect among associates while maintaining a positive, professional attitude in high-paced situations. Qualifications & Skills Communication: Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with a diverse customer base. Mathematical Proficiency: Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction) for inventory and pricing tasks. Stress Management: Ability to remain professional and helpful in fast-paced or stressful retail environments. Integrity: A commitment to honesty and safety in all aspects of store operations. Preferred Experience Previous Retail, Grocery, or Customer Service experience. Bilingual skills (speaking, reading, or writing in a second language) are highly encouraged.
