Overhead Crane Operator - Structural Steel Location: Richmond, VA Shift: 2nd Shift Job Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: Starting at $22.00/hr, with higher pay depending on experience, plus a $3.00/hr shift differential. Job Overview We are seeking a dependable Material Handler to support structural steel loading and yard operations. This hands-on role involves moving steel, handling trailers, and operating overhead cranes and Pettibone equipment. Responsibilities: • Operate overhead cranes to load and move structural steel • Use Pettibone equipment to transport steel around the yard • Jockey trailers around the yard and unload incoming trailers • Assist with outdoor material handling and daily shop operations • Maintain reliable attendance and follow workplace safety procedures Requirements: • Experience operating overhead cranes and handling materials • Experience loading structural steel with an overhead crane is required • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic • Willingness to learn additional tasks; training may be available to qualified candidates We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information.
