Day-to-Day • This role centers on your professional skills within the Transportation And Logistics space in Oklahoma City. The Backbone of the Middle Mile Logistics Network Achieving our massive delivery scale requires an unstoppable, highly synchronized "middle mile" logistics network. Before smaller delivery vans can bring packages to a customer's door, millions of pounds of freight must be rapidly transported across the country between our massive fulfillment centers, sortation facilities, and air hubs. We are actively seeking elite, safety-obsessed Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) professionals to pilot our state-of-the-art fleet. When you secure a CDL Driver career within the Amazon network, you are not just getting a standard trucking job; you are partnering with an enterprise that values home time, invests heavily in cutting-edge vehicle safety telematics, and offers unmatched route stability. If you want a heavy-haul driving job that finally respects your work-life balance, this is the premier destination in the transportation industry. Comprehensive Duties & Responsibilities As a CDL Driver, you are the undisputed heavyweight champion of our logistics network. You will be piloting brand-new, top-of-the-line Class 8 Day Cab tractors, hauling 53-foot dry van trailers exclusively between Amazon facilities. • Commercial Vehicle Mastery: Safely operate a massive Class 8 commercial tractor-trailer combination in a wide variety of traffic, weather, and highway conditions. You must maintain an absolute, uncompromising commitment to safety, utilizing advanced onboard driver-assist technologies (like forward-collision mitigation and lane-departure warnings). • Drop-and-Hook Operations: Execute flawless drop-and-hook procedures at highly active, congested Amazon facilities. You must expertly back 53-foot trailers into tight staging slips and dock doors, properly secure landing gear, and manage gladhand air connections without causing equipment damage. Because this is a dedicated linehaul role, you will enjoy 100% no-touch freight. • Regulatory DOT Compliance: Strictly adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. You will maintain perfect electronic hours-of-service (HOS) logs and ensure your vehicle never exceeds gross weight limits. • Relay App Navigation: Utilize the proprietary Amazon Relay smartphone application to manage your entire itinerary. You will follow specific, truck-safe GPS routing, log gate arrival and departure times, and report any on-the-road delays directly to the digital dispatch center. A Day in the Life of a CDL Driver Your shift starts at a secure designated truck yard. You clock in via your mobile device and locate your assigned, meticulously maintained Day Cab tractor. You conduct a rigorous, digital pre-trip inspection, checking air brakes, fifth-wheel locking jaws, and tire tread depth. Once cleared, you log into the Relay app, which serves as your digital dispatcher, GPS, and load manager. The app directs you to a Fulfillment Center just down the highway. Upon arrival, the automated gate security scans your app, and you proceed directly to your assigned parking slip. You drop your empty trailer, hook up to a fully loaded, pre-sealed 53-foot trailer, perform a tug test and a visual walk-around, and immediately hit the highway toward a Sortation Center 150 miles away. You spend your shift cruising the open road, completely insulated from warehouse labor. After completing your round-trip route, you return the tractor to your home yard, complete your post-trip inspection, and head home to your family. Industry-Leading Total Rewards and Benefits We offer a compensation package designed to attract and retain elite commercial drivers: • Stable Yearly Compensation: Forget the volatility of cents-per-mile (CPM) pay. You are paid a highly competitive, guaranteed yearly salary, meaning you are compensated fairly for every minute you are on duty, including traffic delays, weather stoppages, and pre-trip inspections. • Unrivaled Home Time: The network is built for local and regional runs. Enjoy predictable, stable schedules that guarantee you are home daily, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance and be present for your family. • Elite Equipment: Drive the newest, safest equipment on the road. The fleet consists of modern Day Cabs equipped with automatic transmissions, advanced telematics, comfortable air-ride seating, and climate control. • Comprehensive Health & Future Planning: Gain access to full medical, dental, and vision insurance packages, alongside paid time off (PTO) and 401(k) retirement matching programs. Must possess a valid, active Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) with a pristine Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Must hold a current, valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Fed Med card) proving your physical fitness to drive. Must successfully pass a rigorous DOT-regulated drug screening and background check, and be registered in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
