This position plays a key part in the daily Grocery Department by maintaining merchandise availability, organization, freshness, and presentation while helping satisfy customer needs and store objectives. Role and Responsibilities of Grocery Stocker You will contribute to a well-maintained grocery operation by keeping products stocked and presentable, supporting sales and freshness, following sanitation requirements, and maintaining store standards. Customer service and teamwork are also important parts of helping the department operate effectively each day. • Keep the Grocery Department stocked and orderly, presenting merchandise attractively to meet demand and encourage sales. • Develop displays that support incremental sales and rotate products properly so merchandise stays fresh and within customer reach. • Maintain organized backroom storage for excess merchandise and follow correct stocking practices for shelf placement. • Inspect merchandise to confirm it remains saleable and has correct pricing and signage. • Offer courteous customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and resolving concerns professionally. • Help receive, unload, check in, break down, and store deliveries using a power jack or hand jack when trained. Training is provided. • Manage damaged and discontinued merchandise according to company policy and remove products that cannot be sold. • Perform required cleaning and sanitation activities while keeping workspaces, equipment, counters, and display cases clean and maintained under health and OSHA standards. • Remove trash appropriately and maintain productivity expectations, established work methods, work standards, and shrink controls. • Follow security requirements and maintain stocking productivity at the rate expected by company standards. • Handle cardboard baling and related tasks after receiving the required training. Training is provided. • Maintain positive working relationships with supervisors and coworkers, support efficient store operations, and pursue continuous performance improvement. • Properly use company-provided PPE, including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, company-sponsored footwear, and other supplied equipment. • Assist other departments when called upon. Required Skills and Experience of Grocery Stocker • Ability to complete essential duties satisfactorily with or without an accommodation. • High School Diploma or GED completed or in progress. • No prior experience is necessary.
