Responsibilities This role centers on your professional skills within the Logistics space in Great Falls. • This Great Falls-based role is an excellent opportunity for professionals skilled in relevant skills. • Our Amazon team in Great Falls, MT is growing. • Benefit from working in Great Falls, a key hub for the Logistics industry. Mastering the Middle Mile If the fulfillment center is the brain of the operation, the sortation center is the central nervous system. Welcome to the critical "middle mile" of the Amazon delivery network. As a Sortation Warehouse Associate, your primary objective is to group and route thousands of packages so they reach the correct local delivery hubs at lightning speed. For those seeking highly active, fast-paced part time warehouse jobs that offer intense teamwork and rapid physical movement, this is the ultimate environment. The Sortation Experience Work in a sort center is fundamentally different from a traditional fulfillment role. You are not picking individual items; you are dealing with sealed, completed packages that are moving rapidly down vast networks of conveyor belts. The atmosphere is charged, loud, and incredibly team-oriented. When the conveyor belts get heavily loaded during a "rush," you will rely on your teammates to clear the lines and keep the supply chain moving seamlessly. • Rapid Package Routing: You will read complex digital routing labels as packages fly down the line, pulling them off the belt and sorting them into specific geographical chutes or designated postal carts. • Pallet Architecture: You will become a master of spatial reasoning. Sorting requires building perfectly stable, tightly packed pallets of boxes (often referred to as "playing Tetris" by our veteran associates), which are then heavily shrink-wrapped to prevent transit damage. • Fluid Loading Operations: Utilizing manual pallet jacks, you will safely transport these massive, wrapped pallets directly into the bellies of outbound 18-wheeler semi-trailers, staging them for the over-the-road drivers. "The sort center moves incredibly fast, but the flexibility is what keeps me here. Working part-time allows me to manage my college classes while still getting access to Amazon's incredible 401(k) matching and tuition assistance. It is the perfect balance." - A current Sortation Associate. Flexibility and Comprehensive Rewards We understand that modern life requires flexible schedules. Sortation roles offer some of the most adaptable shifts in the logistics careers landscape, including morning, evening, and weekend-only options. Despite being part-time, eligible associates still unlock exceptional health, dental, and vision benefits, along with highly competitive shift differentials that boost your base pay when working non-traditional hours. You will need a strong commitment to workplace safety, the ability to lift up to 49 pounds, and a High School diploma or equivalent to join the team.
