Food Production Associate

Simple Bites Meals – Meridian, Idaho Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Simple Bites Meals is a family-owned food manufacturing company located in Meridian, Idaho. We have been in business for more than 20 years and operate from a USDA-inspected commercial food production facility. We produce fresh and frozen meals, wraps, breakfast items, snack packs, and other grab-and-go foods for retail and wholesale customers. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Full-Time Food Production Associate to become part of our production team. Regular Schedule After training, this position is: Monday–Friday: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. First-Week Training Schedule During the first week, the training schedule will be: Monday & Thursday: 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday: 12:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m. After successfully completing the one-week training period, the employee will begin the regular full-time Monday–Friday schedule. What You'll Be Doing This is a hands-on position working as part of our food production team. Responsibilities may include: • Preparing and assembling meals, wraps, burritos, snack packs, and other food products • Portioning ingredients accurately and consistently • Following recipes and production instructions • Packaging, sealing, labeling, and preparing finished products for orders • Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized work area • Washing and sanitizing equipment, utensils, tables, and production areas • Assisting at different production stations as needed • Following all USDA, HACCP, food-safety, sanitation, and company procedures • Working efficiently with the production team to complete daily orders on schedule USDA-Inspected Facility & Food-Safety Requirements Because Simple Bites Meals operates as a USDA-inspected food production facility, food safety and sanitation requirements are extremely important. Employees are required to follow all USDA rules and regulations, food-safety procedures, sanitation requirements, dress requirements, and company policies at all times while working in the facility. This includes: • No piercings/jewelry that are prohibited in our production environment • Following required handwashing, glove, hair restraint, and sanitation procedures • Wearing appropriate clothing and required protective items while in production • Maintaining excellent personal hygiene • Following procedures designed to prevent contamination and cross-contact • Keeping work areas, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized • Following instructions from management and USDA personnel regarding food-safety requirements Simple Bites Meals is a smoke-free workplace. Our ideal candidate: • Shows up on time and ready to work • Has excellent attendance and can be counted on • Works well with others and has a team-player attitude • Takes direction well and is willing to learn • Works with a sense of urgency while maintaining quality and accuracy • Can follow recipes, portion sizes, and written instructions • Understands the importance of food safety and sanitation • Is comfortable performing repetitive production tasks • Can stay productive in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment • Understands that cleaning and sanitation are part of everyone's job • Communicates respectfully with coworkers and management • Takes pride in producing a consistent, quality product Requirements • Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. after training • Must be able to complete the first-week training schedule listed above • Must successfully pass a background check • Must have reliable transportation and dependable attendance • Must be able to stand and work on your feet for extended periods • Must be able to safely perform the physical duties associated with commercial food production • Must be willing and able to comply with all USDA, food-safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, dress, and company requirements • Must comply with our no-piercing/jewelry requirements while working in production • Must comply with our smoke-free workplace policy Previous commercial kitchen, restaurant, food manufacturing, catering, or production experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
