With over 35,000 employees and 400 offices nationwide, we provide flexibility and career growth in dynamic work environments. ## Position Summary The Crane Operator operates lifting equipment and may be required to oversee rigging operations on the assigned crane. ## Essential Job Functions You will operate mobile cranes to move materials safely and effectively, participate in all lift planning as required, and inspect, rig, and ensure rigging attachments are configured per load chart and manufacturer guidelines before lifting loads. Properly calculating lifting capacities, deductions, and center of gravities is key. Daily tasks include inspecting, cleaning, and performing operator-level maintenance on equipment per manufacturer and company recommendations. You'll closely interact with installation crews for material movement, perform daily safety checks, and follow OSHA rules, contract requirements, and company policies. Other duties may include completing documentation, reporting, limited office work, understanding Plant North and drawing coordinates, working under production schedule pressure, and taking direction from a foreman or higher skilled worker. You should have basic knowledge of heavy industrial construction processes and be willing to support the project with other tasks as needed. ## Qualifications We are looking for someone with knowledge of our MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations. You must be able to actively participate in daily toolbox meetings and set a personal example of safe behavior. A current DOT Physical is required. You must have the ability to obtain, through evaluation, certification to operate project site mobile cranes. Each employee is required to provide safety toe boots. You must follow all state, company, client, OSHA, and federal health and safety guidelines, and maintain good housekeeping by cleaning up after each task. Knowledge of equipment safety, maintenance, storage, and manufacturer load charts is essential, along with analytical and problem-solving skills. You must be able to work with limited supervision and read, write, and speak English fluently to understand load charts, prepare written orders, and read safety topics. ## Physical Demands This role involves up to 12-hour shifts of hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions. You must maintain strength and stamina to use arms, hands, and legs fully; push, pull, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds; and stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, crawl, and climb. The work environment includes constant changes in weather and site conditions, with moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, odors, and loud noises. Personal protective equipment (safety-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest) is required. You must be able to move in confined, cluttered, uneven areas and work at heights using fall-protection equipment.
