CDL-A Over The Road Vehicle Transporter Truck Driver

Otr Cdl-A Driving Role Carvana is hiring immediately for an OTR CDL-A driving role! Average weekly pay of $2000. The over the road vehicle transporter is responsible for the safe and efficient pickup and delivery of Carvana vehicles across the continental United States. This highly specialized position requires exceptional driving skill, communication skills, attention to detail in loading/unloading, and a strong commitment to compliance with all federal and state regulations. The driver will operate a Western Star sleeper cab. This role requires extended periods away from home. What you'll be doing: • Safely and efficiently operate a Western Star sleeper cab with a specialized car-hauling trailer. • Spend extended periods on the road and in-cab lodging. • Operate loads of up to nine vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions on an assigned route. • Load/unload and secure vehicles in accordance with applicable standards. • Complete and accurately document thorough pre and post trip inspections of the Western Star; timely submit accurate inspection reports. • Perform simple maintenance required in connection with pre and post trip inspections such as topping off fluids (e.g. engine oil, coolant), and tire inflation. • Keep and maintain accurate driver logs. • Adhere to applicable safety and traffic procedures, laws, and regulations. • Timely and effectively report all unsafe vehicle or road conditions. • Perform tasks independently with minimal supervision. • Other duties as assigned. What the job requires: • Three-month contracted commitment. • 21+ years of age. • 1+ year of driving experience at Carvana. • OTR driving experience preferred. • Experience and comfortability driving in all weather conditions and urban environments. • 6+ consecutive months experience within the last three years driving a vehicle transporter or tractor trailer, or equivalent. • Military experience. • Class A CDL driving experience, with 1+ employer or owner operator. • Have and maintain a valid Class A CDL, DOT Medical Card, and clean driving record (No DUIs, No more than two at fault accidents, and No more than 2 moving violations, in the last 3 years). • Ability to pass controlled substance tests given in accordance with FMCSA Section 382.301(a) (Pre-Employment), FMCSA Section 382.303 (Post-Accident), and FMCSA Sections 382.303-311. (Random/Reasonable Suspicion). • Ability to safely and professionally operate Carvana equipment (including manual transmission vehicles) according to established Carvana, DOT, and FMCSA rules, regulations and policies, anywhere in the United States. • Ability to maintain consistent and reliable attendance, and work shifts of up to 16 hours in a single day. • Ability to work outdoors regularly for extended periods of time in all weather conditions. • Ability and comfort to be around fumes or odors that are from vehicles under maintenance. • Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends and holidays as needed. • Ability to communicate and interact with others effectively in a professional, courteous manner. • Ability to safely perform physical requirements of the position, including: frequently move in and out of vehicles; frequently stand, bend, twist, stoop, and squat; regularly walk 75'; regularly climb ladders and ramps of up to 10'; regularly work up to 10' above ground; continually sit for 10 hours; regularly push, pull and lift 20 lbs, and periodically lift up to 60 lbs.
