Job Summary of Cashier and Stocker Associate: Being a Cashier and Stocker Associate involves tasks such as merchandising and restocking products, operating the cash register, and cleaning to uphold the store's appearance. Your primary objective will be to elevate the customer's shopping experience through teamwork with the ALDI team and delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities of Cashier and Stocker Associate: • Required to conduct tasks with or without reasonable adaptations. • Follows customer service principles and escalates issues to store management when necessary • Communicates to store leadership regarding the financial consequences of expired or damaged items. • Effectively operates the point-of-sale (POS) system to scan and process customer purchases accurately, alerting store management to any scanning concerns or errors that arise. • Ensures compliance with cash handling policies and procedures. • Follows the line rule and activates extra check lanes as needed to ensure a proficient and timely checkout. • Maximizes sales opportunities by stocking shelves and setting up displays in a tidy fashion aligned with merchandising planograms. • Perform curbside pickup duties by accurately picking merchandise from the store, verifying the order details, and promptly delivering them to customers' vehicles parked in the designated area. • Maintains adherence to zone standards and merchandising protocols continuously • Helps store managers achieve goals related to operational efficiency. • Aids in achieving total loss goals set by store management. • Aligns with the existing company policies and processes. • Assisting store management in ensuring workplace safety involves identifying and addressing hazards, promoting proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment functionality. • Adheres to established procedures for inventory management and product handling. • Executes general cleaning duties in line with company expectations. Physical Demands: • Required to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move from one area to another. • Essential duties involve moving, bearing, and positioning merchandise weighing a maximum of 45 pounds on shelves at different elevations, which may involve reaching overhead. • Required skills include operating machinery like a cash register, electric and manual pallet lifters, floor cleaning equipment, and cardboard compactor. • The responsibility includes storing goods in environments with fluctuating temperatures, including coolers and freezers. • Incorporating glass and multiuse cleaning supplies is a must. Qualifications of Cashier and Stocker Associate: • Competence in delivering timely and gracious customer assistance. • Proficient in managing diverse store machinery including cash registers, floor scrubbers, compactors, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers. • Competence in applying and interpreting ALDI operating policies and procedures accurately. • Capability to effectively convey information through both oral and written communication. • Capacity to perform primary arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. • Having a talent for executing instructions diligently and paying heed to specifics. • Having the capacity to excel both independently and in a team dynamic. • Capability to categorize, rank, and fulfill assigned tasks efficiently within predetermined timelines to maximize productivity. • Showing reliability through consistent and punctual attendance. • Meeting the stipulated time requirements. Education and Experience: • Individuals must be at least 18 years old to meet the criteria. • It is beneficial to hold a high school diploma or a comparable certification. • Preference is given to those with relevant retail work experience.
