About the Role
As our Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will support the Housekeeping Manager in leading the daily operations of the Housekeeping department while ensuring guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas consistently meet M Social's high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety.
This role is ideal for an organized, service-focused leader who enjoys developing teams, maintaining exceptional quality standards, and creating memorable guest experiences through operational excellence.
Your Impact – Housekeeping Leadership
You will play a key role in maintaining the hotel's appearance and overall guest satisfaction by supporting housekeeping operations, coaching team members, and ensuring efficient workflows. Your leadership will foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and attention to detail while delivering an exceptional hospitality experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Housekeeping Operations
Assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping department
Coordinate room assignments and staffing to ensure efficient daily operations
Ensure guestrooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas meet brand cleanliness and presentation standards
Conduct routine inspections of guestrooms and public spaces to ensure quality and consistency
Assist in managing daily room readiness to support Front Office operations and guest arrivals
Team Leadership
Supervise, coach, and support Room Attendants, Housepersons, Laundry Attendants, and Public Area Attendants
Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance development of housekeeping employees
Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and constructive feedback to improve performance
Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment
Serve as Manager on Duty for the department in the Housekeeping Manager's absence
Guest Experience
Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and concerns
Resolve housekeeping-related guest issues with urgency and a solutions-oriented approach
Collaborate with Front Office and other departments to ensure an exceptional guest experience
Ensure guest preferences and special requests are communicated and fulfilled whenever possible
Quality Assurance
Perform detailed inspections of guest rooms and public areas
Monitor housekeeping productivity, cleanliness scores, and guest satisfaction metrics
Ensure adherence to brand standards, company policies, and departmental procedures
Maintain inventory standards for linens, guest supplies, and cleaning products
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, safety procedures, and chemical handling requirements
Promote safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Maintain compliance with sanitation, infection prevention, and housekeeping protocols
Report maintenance concerns promptly through established work order procedures
Inventory & Administrative Support
Assist with inventory counts and ordering of housekeeping supplies, linens, and equipment
Monitor labor productivity and assist with scheduling to support operational needs
Maintain accurate records, inspection reports, and departmental documentation
Help manage departmental expenses while maintaining service excellence
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and guest satisfaction
Support departmental initiatives focused on sustainability and operational excellence
Encourage innovation and continuous learning within the housekeeping team
Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest service
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Leadership Requirements
Previous supervisory or leadership experience in housekeeping or hospitality operations
Ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to lead by example while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment
Experience managing productivity, quality standards, and operational priorities
Technical / Role-Specific Requirements
Minimum 2–4 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a hotel environment
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning chemicals, equipment, and sanitation standards
Experience conducting room inspections and maintaining brand quality standards
Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) and housekeeping management software preferred
Understanding of inventory management and labor scheduling
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working in occupied guestrooms
Preferred Qualifications
Luxury, lifestyle, or full-service hotel experience preferred
Bilingual skills are a plus
Experience with Forbes, AAA, or brand quality standards is beneficial
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Frequently bend, reach, lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
Ability to inspect guestrooms thoroughly and move throughout all hotel areas
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent movement throughout the property
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred
Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
