This position is located in the FMS of Stratton VAMC in Albany. The Leader role of an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic position is responsible for leading work crew organizing and scheduling daily work assignments to ensure systems function efficiently and effectively. The incumbent will ensure the proper maintenance, repair, installation, modification and operation of a variety of comfort cooling and heating systems such as heating, ventilating, refrigeration and air circulating.
Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for following all safety regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and hospital policies to ensure workplace injuries are reduced or eliminated. Responsible for HVAC systems such as central air handling units, direct expansion split systems, walk-in refrigeration coolers, medium and low temperature refrigeration units, exhaust fan units, direct digital controls, pneumatic controls, low voltage controls, high voltage controls. Ensure the EICM makes control adjustment to ensure HVAC systems are tuned for optimal energy savings. Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner and high priorities are attended to first. Ensures electronic refrigerant logs are kept up to date and maintained. Performs other related duties as assigned.
