Job Summary
The Aerial Groundman supports aerial linemen and crew members in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead telecommunications systems. This entry-level role is responsible for ground operations, material handling, and ensuring a safe and efficient job site while assisting with aerial construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist aerial linemen with the installation of fiber optic and coaxial cables.
• Load, unload, and organize materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
• Set up and maintain a safe work zone, including traffic control when required.
• Operate hand tools and assist with basic construction tasks.
• Handle cable placement from the ground and support lashing operations.
• Maintain communication with crew members during lifts and aerial work.
• Clean and prepare job sites before, during, and after construction.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior construction or outdoor labor experience is a plus.
• Willingness to learn telecommunications construction practices.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
