Advanced Practice Provider, Neurosurgery Inpatient

Overview JOB SPECIFICS • Providing high-quality patient care and a truly personalized, patient-centric experience aligned with each patient’s preferences, goals, and needs • Primarily inpatient neurosurgery care, including comprehensive neurological assessments, daily rounding, histories and physicals, new consults, admissions, and discharges • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with attending neurosurgeons • Prepare patients for surgery, manage postoperative care, and support smooth care transitions across the continuum • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and imaging, prescribe medications, and document all care provided • Provide patient and family education to enhance understanding of diagnoses, treatment options, and long-term management plans • Perform procedures alongside residents • Exposure to a broad range of acute and complex neurological cases • Collaborative work environment with neurosurgeons, residents, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams • Three 12-hour shifts per week (5:45 AM – 6:15 PM), Rotating weekends and holidays as part of the schedule Qualifications BENEFITS & PERKS OSF HealthCare offers a comprehensive Compensation and Total Rewards Package which includes: • Generous paid time off! • Vacation and holiday time off to get away and recharge • Well-being time for self-care, mission trips, or whatever makes you happy! • Sick leave for you or to care for an ill family member • Continuing Medical Education (CME) time and dollars • Concierge relocation services • Health, life, dental, and retirement plans • Paid occurrence-based malpractice • Student Loan repayment counseling • Career development opportunities • Full-time, clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $60.39-$68.10. This position is salaried. • Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987. • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable. • BLS/ACLS Certified. • Neurosurgery experience preferred, new graduates will be considered • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hospital environment while maintaining patient-centered focus. • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs. • Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served.
